Located on New Wakefield Street, Manchester, Artisan Heights is Unite Students’ new 603 bed purpose built student accommodation. Close to Oxford Road train station, the accommodation provides a mix of studios and 5 to 10 bed cluster apartments with shared kitchen facilities spread over 33 floors.
What we delivered
Our team designed, manufactured and installed bespoke joinery for the ground floor reception, 1 and 32 floor communal areas and study space. Storage solutions were incorporated into the ground floor reception area which along with the bespoke joinery created eye catching features and a modern look.
The multi-functional design allowed the bespoke joinery to be the main focal point to reflect the earth red fin cladding on the outside of the building.
On the first floor, flexible working spaces were created including a small meeting/study room and a section of seating to be used as a flexible social study space for individuals or groups.
The one person booths in the silent study space incorporated impressive dividing partition planters to create privacy for the students, whilst the meeting room table featured beautiful greenery to further allow the feeling of bringing the ‘outside in’ and added a pop of colour.
In the communal kitchen area, our design team manufactured and installed a stunning timber feature ceiling with integrated lighting.
The study room on the 32 floor boasts panoramic views over Manchester, so bespoke window seats were created to allow students to take full advantage of the stunning view while studying. The partitioning between booths separated the space and gave privacy to the students, while the upholstery and cushions with allowance for electric outlets added a sense of comfort and softness to the room.
On the ground level reception area, works comprised of the design, joinery and installation of the reception desk and reception post storage. The joinery included shelving cupboards to hold parcels and larger items of post. A purpose-made light and minimalist shelving system and post box was situated opposite the reception desk to tie in with the overall look of the area.
