The Store House, Leeds
The Store House- formerly the iconic House of Fraser store on Briggate, Leeds- has been transformed into a high-quality student living destination that blends heritage, innovation, and wellbeing.
Commissioned by developer Manner and funded by BlackRock, this PBSA scheme sets a new benchmark for student accommodation, offering 369 en-suite bedrooms across 238 cluster rooms and 131 studios.
The development also features over 500 sqm of highly specified amenity areas, including co-working and study zones, a wellness suite, lounge and recreation spaces, a private screening room, and a stunning private dining area with a roof terrace.
Design Intent
The design vision for The Store House centred on creating a holistic living environment that actively supports student wellbeing, productivity, and community. Interiors were developed to offer versatility and a future-focused aesthetic, ensuring the spaces reflect the evolving needs of modern academic life.
A key objective was to create a sense of connection and belonging, with thoughtfully designed amenity areas that encourage social interaction, collaboration, and relaxation.
Our Involvement
Project ff&e were appointed to supply and install loose furniture across both bedroom and amenity spaces. This included:
• Desk chairs
• Cinema seating, pool and table tennis tables, shuffleboard, and games booths for recreation areas
• Bar stools and outdoor terrace seating
• Bespoke fitted kitchens for a tea point and staff welfare area
Working in a tight city centre location, our team meticulously coordinated deliveries to comply with local access restrictions and meet the programme schedule.
Despite logistical challenges, the project was completed within four weeks, with all furniture installed on time to the highest standard, ensuring a seamless handover for the client ahead of the student intake.
