Since 2014, Manchester Life has played a central role in transforming Ancoats and New Islington into the thriving, connected and sought-after community it is today. Eliza Yard and Jersey Wharf are the latest chapters in this long-term regeneration story, delivering high-quality homes for sale and rent, alongside public spaces that celebrate the area’s industrial heritage and reinforce its distinctive character.
Working on behalf of John Sisk & Son, Manchester Life’s contractor for both developments, Project ff&e was appointed to design, supply and install the fitted kitchens across both developments. The project encompassed kitchens for 316 apartments and two dedicated staff kitchens across three residential blocks.
The Specification
We tailored the kitchen specifications to match the distinct character of each development. The spaces combine modern functionality with premium finishes, including:
• Quartz and laminate worktops
• Undermount sinks and painted glass splashbacks
• Integrated appliances, ovens, hobs, and pull-out waste bins
• Energy-efficient LED under-unit lighting
On-Site Delivery
Logistics and timing were critical. We delivered the entire project over a 40-week program, consistently averaging 20 kitchen installations every week across multiple blocks.
The build was managed by a dedicated on-site team, including a Senior Installation Manager, a Supervisor, and six skilled operatives. By collaborating closely with the principal contractor, we kept the momentum going safely, efficiently, and exactly to schedule, without ever compromising on quality.
Impact Beyond the Build
For us, a project is always more than just the physical installation, including how we can contribute to a lasting community impact, and our team proudly supported the following important initiatives during the install:
• Investing in Future Talent: Between September and December 2025, we hosted a Plan Bee apprentice on-site, providing them with invaluable, hands-on experience in the industry.
• Mustard Tree Charity: Four team members volunteered with the local charity Mustard Tree, supporting their Job Club. Working through language barriers using translation tech, they helped individuals craft CVs and apply for roles, while also assisting in the community shop and sorting furniture donations.
• The Great British Spring Clean: The team took to the streets for a local litter-picking initiative to help keep the surrounding neighbourhood clean and welcoming.
